Appalachian State University in North Carolina owns a house a few blocks off
of the mall. They rent rooms to ASU students, alumni, faculty, and other
visiting faculty and students. I believe they provide special rates for
students on internships. You can have a private room with a shared bathroom.
The phone number for information is 828-262-2132 or you might be able to
reach them through Dr. Martha Kreszock at [log in to unmask]
Good Luck
