HI Jim,
we have done plenty of interactive displays containing complex information,
here are links to just three of them - each using different media. We have
another couple in development which I could share with you off list, or I'd
be happy to share some more ideas with you.
Complex information and interactivity are very happy companions - by using
the combination you can create an engaging, educational and entertaining
result (much more important "e's" than the usual electronic...).

1. A database of exhibit information accessible throughout the museum:

2. An interactive family history for viewing on a television set:

3. The technically complex science of sailing made easy for teenagers via a
downloaded "game" that has amazing educational outcomes:

Regards

Emily

Subject: Computers & Interactive Exhibits

We are working on exhibits for a historic house museum at a State Park.

One of the ideas we have is for an interactive computer, or other media,
exhibit to interpret the historic owner's complex geneology and
historiography. There is a multitude of information to be communicated on
these subjects. Both subjects are also complicated by an intriguing and
somewhat controversial life. His history therefore also includes some
fascinating myth and legend. A real hero/villain historiography.

Besides an active web-site, what types of computer interactive or other
medias have people used, developed, or seen that might be able to convey
such a large and complicated amount of information.
Jim N.
