Good evening, all - You could also use well-rinsed (in hottest
good-excellent quality water) 100% cotton firmly woven fabric instead of
tissue - much wider pieces are available very inexpensively (no slipping
overlapping tissue pieces!). The fabric can also be used as a leader/starter
to get the textile rolling evenly on to the tube. And of course as the
outside dust cover too. It can be re-rinsed in the future while the tissue
must be discarded. And in any disaster where quantities of water are
involved, the fabric won't dissolve into paper pulp. The tube should be a
couple of inches longer/wider on both sides of the textile so these tube
ends also can be used to prop up the tube (simple: using rolled up towels;
more expensive: Ethafoam cradles) instead of hanging on an inserted rod.

Remember not to cinch any ties tightly around the textile as this will cause
crushing and wrinkling of the textile - another reason for the rolling tube
to be longer as the ties can be cinched down to the tube itself.
