Paid summer internship available. The National Law Enforcement Museum (www.LawEnforcementMuseum.org), a museum in development, is seeing interns to assist with NLEM’s online catalog project.

The Library Internship will encompass implementation of the Museum’s Ex Libris’s Voyager OPAC, including, but not limited to various national metadata standards, including MARC21, NACO/SACO, and other authority work.

•	Creation and implementation of tag tables.
•	Working on OPAC configuration.
•	Creation of NACO/SACO compliant authorities for future submission to LC.
•	Copy cataloging using Z39.5, generally through the LC catalog; possibly some original cataloging and LC call number creation.
•	Creating bibliographic and holdings records of artifacts into Voyager.

Candidates must be enrolled in a graduate-level Library and Information Management Services program and possess strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. Applicant must be available to 32 hours per week, May 2010 through August 2010.

Work will take place at both the main office in the Penn Quarter, Washington, DC, and at an offsite storage facility in Forestville, Maryland. The DC office is Metro accessible. Car transportation to Forestville would be helpful.

If interested, please submit a letter of interest, resume, and a list of three references to Vanya Scott, Volunteer Program Manager, at [log in to unmask] by April 9, 2010.
