POSITION:               Assistant Professor in Arts Management and related studies

ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS       Assist in establishing curriculum for new academic minor program
in Arts Management and teach arts management courses (e.g., Introduction to
Arts Management, Promoting the Arts, Funding and Financial Issues in the
Arts, Practicum in Arts Management, etc.) in the interdisciplinary program
of Communication and the Arts. Also teach courses in one or more areas
appropriate to academic preparation in arts management, e.g., art, music,
theatre, or communications, and assist in managing the fine and performing
arts programming supported by Communication and the Arts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Masters Degree in Arts Management or Arts
Administration or related field; ability to develop and teach courses
appropriate to a minor in Arts Management at the college level; professional
experience in arts management     Preferred: experience in teaching arts
management or other arts-related courses at the college level.

STARTING DATE:  27 August 2001

CONDITIONS OF
APPOINTMENT:    This is a full-time academic year appointment as assistant
professor, tenure track.  Teaching load is based on 21 credits for the
academic year with reassignment for development, coordination of practicum,
and arts management responsibilities.

SALARY RANGE:   Starting salary $38,000; annual review for merit increases.
