"The Last Flower" was the name of a book Thurber published, during or just
after WW II.  It might be a long shot, but if this auction included the
original artwork, perhaps the publishers might know something about it.

There are two Thurber historic houses, one in Columbus, Ohio, the other in
Connecticut.  The staffs at one of these may have some leads.  There is also
a Thurber estate.
