I developed my own program through the Master of Liberal
Studies at NC State University. I worked with exhibit
designers, took the few museum courses that were offered
and did independent projects in conjunction with museums.
I looked at extension and the work of Paulo Freire in
adult education. I thought of my concentration as more
informal and nonformal education and not just limited to
museum education, which opened up the literature more.
