When an outside funder came forward to fund field trip buses for school
kids, we jumped at the chance. The funder covered 100% of the
transportation cost during the run of a specific exhibit, and the
response was incredible. We now provide just a flat $150 for buses,
whether that covers the full transportation cost or not. School
attendance is still very good. To sum up, these transportation subsidies
have had a positive effect on attendance by school kids.

Hello All,

One of my new docents happens to sit on the board of a foundation that
funds educational opportunities for children.  He is interested in
helping us underwrite some of the costs of buses for field trips.  I am
hoping that some on this list offer such subsidies and if so, would you
please let me know how much of the bus cost you fund and has this helped
to increase your school attendance?
