Museum Curator II (Education, Adult Programs) in Montgomery, Alabama

Salary: 37,245.00 - 53,018.00
Type: Full Time - Experienced

The curator of education for adult programs is responsible for organizing,
managing and delivering direct educational programs for adult audiences,
high school age to seniors.  The management of the museum's docent program
and the Advanced Placement Art History course are also key components of
this position.  The museum's education department of three full-time
curators and two full-time administrative assistants serves the community by
providing a wide range of family, school and adult programs.  There is a
strong focus on interacitve learning, utilizing the museum's outstanding
collections of Amerian art, Old Master Prints and contemporary art as a
source for creative and dynamic programming.

Requirements:
 The position requires a demonstrated knowledge of the theories and practice
of art education, as well as outstanding communication skills, including the
ability to appropriately address an audience of varied educational levels.
Excellent writing and public speaking skills are also required.  Minimum
qualifications include a BA (MA preferred) in Art History, Museum Studies,
Art Education or Fine Arts, with two years of experience in professional art
museum work, art-related institution, art education field and related area,
or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The job
