Dear Colleagues:

The Smithsonian Early Enrichment Center is proud to offer two innovative
seminars for docents, early childhood and museum educators. SEEC seminars
are highly praised for their unique ideas and perspectives as well as for
hands-on experiences and museum visits.

We are currently registering participants for "Learning Through Objects:
Museums and Young Children" to be held January 29th and 30th. This two day
training program will demonstrate how museum objects can help children learn
about themselves and the world around them. This exciting seminar is
designed to introduce early childhood educators to the magic of museums and
to help museum educators and docents forge more creative encounters with
young museum-goers.

We are also happy to include information about our newest educational
seminar "Creating Collections with Young Children" to be held on January 27,
2004. This seminar will examine how to use collections to enrich learning
and supplement curriculum planning in math, science, history and language
arts.

Many past participants have shared stories with us about their successes
integrating the arts into classroom curriculum and museum experiences. Email
the Museum Education team at [log in to unmask] or call 202-786-4717 for
registration information and materials.

Sincerely,

Ann Caspari
