Dear Michele and Gary,

You could contact the International Museum of Photography at George
Eastman House, which holds an impressive collection of daguerreotypes
and ambrotypes, as well as an important conservation laboratory. Grant
Romer will be able to answer any questions you might have, or refer you
to someone close to you.
The address is:
900 East Avenue
Rochester, NY 14607, USA
tel: (716) 271 3361
They also have a web-site but I do not have the address with me now!
