In response to previous inquiries into museums in San Antonio, I feel I
should mention Texas' first museum of modern art, The Marion Koogler McNay
Art Museum, not only as a must-see in the Alamo city but an important member
of the San Antonio community. We have extensive collections of modern and
contemporary art, regular revolving exhibitions of local and national
artists, as well as one of the most important collections of theatre arts in
the world. We also have a beautiful sculpture garden and grounds to visit,
no to mention the museum building, which is both a contemporary exhibition
space and Spanish inspired villa build to showcase the collections. In
January we will be featuring Raoul Dufy: Last of the Fauves. We hope you
come and visit when you are exploring San Antonio.
