The National Museum of Watches and Clocks (www.museumoftime.org) is seeking a motivated intern to assist in the Collections Department.  The National Watch and Clock Museum was officially opened in 1977 with fewer than 1,000 items and has increased to over 12,000 items. The Museum collection is international in scope and covers a wide variety of clocks, watches, tools, and other time-related items. Today, the museum is recognized as the largest and most comprehensive horological collection in North America.

The applicant should be interested in working with museum collections, be able to think outside the box, and isn’t afraid of giving thoughtful suggestions/opinions. They should also:

Have some artifact handling experience
Have solid computer skills that include, but are not limited to, working with database software, social media outlets, and some design software such as InDesign or Photoshop.
Ability to work with mechanical pieces
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lift 50lbs

The selected individual will be willing to work with others and in a small group. Projects can be provided on a needed basis.

Additional Salary Information: Preference will be given to students interning for school credit; a small stipend may be available.
