Laurie,
you might talk with TALA (tx. assoc. of lawyers for the the arts) (or something close to that).  this is mostly (i think) lawyers who donate their time in response to legal questions from non-profit arts organizations.  while i don't know they have backgrounds such as you are proposing, they
might be able to tell you the sorts of query they receive, as well as suggest perhaps appropriate law schools.  sorry i don't have their phone # at hand, but the TAM (tx. assn. of museums) ph. # is 512-328-6812.  hope this helps.
