I have a question for the conservators out there.
I received a rolled map today and would like to know the best way to relax the paper. It's in pretty good condition, though there are areas, like at the folds, where the paper is coming away from the backing. It's hand colored, most likely with watercolors, so I'm assuming humidification is not an option to relax the paper. Aside from flattening it with weight is there any other method we could use? I just don't want to put any stress on the joints/folds.

Thanks so much!
