I'm the project registrar overseeing the installation of objects for the new Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, AZ. The MIM opens in April, we begin install Oct 1 and the building will be complete Dec 1. Between those dates, we'll be working in galleries that are secured only with temporary (plywood) doors. There will be traffic through the galleries by exhibition folk and to a lesser extent construction crews. I would like to keep dust to a minimum particularly because most of the exhibitions are free-standing with no vitrines.

I'm going to ask to have sweeps attached to the temporary doors and mats placed inside and outside the doors. Does anyone have any other suggestions for controlling dust? Has anyone had success with an air purifier? How about a tyvek curtain?

Many thanks!
