RE: Importing/Exporting Artifacts

A museum I worked for had a similar problem with carved ivories on loan
from a British museum. While the exhibition was up, the laws regarding
importing/exporting ivory were changed and what should have been a simple
process took years to resolve. It was a logistical nightmare. So, you may
want to seriously consider whether, if you loan the eagle feather piece,
you will be able to get it back. Unless things have changed, find yourself
a good lawyer and prepare for lots of paperwork!
