Thomas,
If these museums are all within a 5-10 minute drive, why don't you offer some kind of museum trolley that will take visitors to each of the museums -- you can also offer packages for 1 or 2 days (3 museum or 5 museum packages, etc). I believe its been working here in Philadelphia, though on a much larger scale of course, with the Zoo, Museum of Art, Franklin Institute, etc. There are packages for all these museums together, or a few, and a bus called the "Phlash" (everything in Philadelphia has to start with a PH) that takes tourists not only to the museums and historic sites, but gives a little mini-bus tour, pointing out landmarks on the way.
This way people come to your city, park at one museum, are able to see it in a couple of hours, and take the trolley to another. They may be more interested in making a day trip of it if they think of the museums as one larger network that can give them a whole day experience rather than many small individuals.
