How long have you waited for a reply? My experience of French museums,
and of French institutions in general, is that correspondence can take
months. When I was a student, I enclosed a copy of a letter of
introduction from my advisor, who is well know in France. That sped
things up. Another issue may be the staffing and curatorial direction of
the museum. Provincial museums, particulary single artist museums, often
have long-distance curators (do they call them "turbo-conservateurs," as
they do professors -- "turbo-profs" -- who commute?) who live in Paris
and are only rarely on site. (This is the case with the Gustave Courbet
Museum in Ornans.)
But while we're on the subject, what's the Bonheur Studio Museum like?
What kind of collection and archive does it have?
