The Turks and Caicos National Museum has been conducting a search for a
director to replace me, the incumbent. In fact, I am, with the Museum Chair
and another person, doing the recruiting. Based on responses to our original
announcement placed on four Lists we've had some fifty responses, from all
over the world. We decided as soon as this search is over we would post a
report to this list on the search, so that those searching for jobs would
get the perspective of an institution actually filling one. We thought this
feedback might be useful; we may not be typical in terms of locale, but I
suspect our experience with those responding--and our reactions to some of
them--may be. At the moment, however, we are trying to finish this search,
and I don't feel that I can offer any comment until it's over. Hope to be
back to you in a couple of weeks.
