Try John Foccosi ([log in to unmask]) with Advance Media Systems. He does
custom work like this. He has done several installations for me and found
them durable and trouble free. He also is easy to work with and listens to
what you need. I recommend him highly.

Subject: sound station for Trav. Exhbt.

Hi All- We have a text panel exhibit about the history of gospel music in
Detroit. We'd like to add a "sound station". The curator would like to
have the option of 12 tracks and up to 4 minutes of music per track. The
tracks would need to be accessed by pushing a button or some other input
device. She is also concerned about the sound quality. We are going to go
with headphones as the "delivery" part of the set up.

I have looked at CD controller units ( from Museum Technology Source in
Mass, USA) and Digital message repeaters ( from INNOVA in Calif., USA).
I've thought about setting the whole thing up on a computer, but (1) don't
have any idea how to do that and (2) have concerns about the durability in
a traveling situation.

Anyone have experiences to share on this sort of thing? Contacts for folks
who do this kind of work?

We are hoping to have this station completed and ready to go for a Jan 15,
2001 pick up. And we're trying to keep the total cost to about 1000.00
dollars.

Thanks for your help.
