Dear Colleagues,

Thought you would enjoy reading the results of a recent poll. The short article is below in its entirety.

Poll Backs Lower Manhattan Cultural Sites
August 13, 2002

Most people who live and work in Lower Manhattan say they
would be likely to go to any new museums and other cultural
and entertainment attractions in the area, according to a
new poll.

The random survey found that 9 out of 10 residents south of
Chambers Street and 8 out of 10 people who work in the area
favored such attractions. The 800 respondents were surveyed
from July 29 to Aug. 2 for Wall Street Rising, a nonprofit
group working to rejuvenate the financial district. Julie
Menin, the group's president, said, "I thought more
residents would have focused on grocery stores and critical
amenities like that, but this shows they want more
diversity, more culture."
