Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library seeks an intern to work with curatorial staff on a variety of projects related to exhibitions and collections management and care. The intern will also devise his or her own research project to be completed during the internship. Winterthur's museum collections include 85,000 objects made or used in America from 1650 to 1860. The library contains half a million items related to the study of American art, design, and culture from the seventeenth century through 1930. These collections are housed on a thousand-acre estate, the former home of Henry Francis du Pont. For more information about the museum and collections, please visit www.winterthur.org.

The successful candidate will have an M.A. or Ph.D. in American art or related subject, experience working with American decorative arts, superior verbal and written skills plus computer skills and knowledge of Word and Windows. This position would be ideal for someone just finishing a graduate degree and desiring valuable experience in a major museum with an important collection.

This is a full-time, twelve-month position. Starting date July 1, 2003 (negotiable). Salary $22,500 plus benefits.

Please send letter of interest, c.v., and three letters of recommendation to Gary Kulik, Deputy Director for Library, Collections Management, and Academic Programs, Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library, Winterthur, DE 19735. Application deadline April 15, 2003.
