A few suggestions are in order here.

First, the historic building fabric is much more of a concern as it is
an area that both employees, volunteers, and the public undoubtedly
frequent. So there is the health hazzard dimension that requires mold
mitigation. If you are part of a county or other public entity then
there may be some sort of help or aid through your local government
for this part of it. Otherwise, check and see if any part of your
insurance can help defray some of the costs.

Do not try home made recipies, particularly with historic objects or
architecture. You are doing the best thing possible in circulating
air, using dehumidifiers, etc. The trouble with historic mill sites is
that there were deliberately engineered alongside rivers or with
adjacent millponds, and the raceways that run past the wheel(s) almost
always present moisture and drainage issues, even if no flooding has
occured.

Even when things dry up, the mold spores will still be there and when
dry can easily be dislodged and become airborne. And you can suffer
additional outbreaks whenever the moisture content get high enough to
reactive the populations present. So this sounds like a full scale
mold clean-up is in order and it is best to get professionals invovled
who have experience with mold and mildew eradication in historic
bulidings, and hopefully some experience with historic mills.

You also might want to contact the conservators at the Buffalo Art
Conservation Department at SUNY Buffalo who are probably nearby and
may be able to offer advice and some measure of help.

Cheers!
Dave
