Dear Museum-List

Many thanks to everyone who's been replying about Barnum's mermaid.  Our
exhibition "Myths and Mysteries of the Sea" or alternative title "Spooks,
Spirits and Sirens" will have a section in it about mermaids.  We'd love to
have the 'real'  Barnum hoax in our show in Sydney, Australia but suspect
a picture may be what we use.  So Anita I'd be delighted to receive the
citation for Barnum book.

Our exhibition opens in December 96 if you're this way.  And I'll be attending
the American Association
of Museums conference in May so I hope I'll meet up with some of you there.
