Ahh, make your own Victorian Christmas ornaments. In my last two years
we worked with local schools to have them make the ornaments which hung
on the trees. Timing was a bit tricky as we had to distribute materials
in early September so we could have ornaments by mid-November (the
Christmas exhibit always started Thanksgiving week), the children didn't
visit until December. Ornaments were at various levels and had various
success levels in the beginning, simple paper chains (3 varieties),
cornucopias (2 varieties), Dresdens (embossed origami foil paper, had a
disappointing tendency to curl that I never was able to fully remedy),
foil stars, Moravian stars, and the tricky wooden jumping jacks. I
don't remember if I kept personal copies of instructions for these
ornaments, but I may be able to at least outline them, if you are
interested.
