HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS: SURVIVING THE BIG ONE

This workshop is scheduled for, Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at the Tower Road
Branch Library, Gainesville, FL from 9 am - 4 pm.

Learn about steps that can be taken before a hurricane hits that can
increase an institution's chances for minimizing damage.  The workshop also
covers how to accelerate recovery and minimize loss after the storm hits.
This one-day session focuses on the nature of hurricanes, general issues in
developing a disaster plan, making your institution storm-proof, activities
before, during and after the storm, and sources of assistance. Instructor
for this session is Dr. Michael Trinkley, Director of Chicora Foundation.

Cost for $95 SOLINET members, all membership categories, ($85 early bird,
$120 late registration); $135 Non-SOLINET members ($125 early bird, $160
late registration). Any institution within Florida qualifies for the member
rate.  NOTE: Members of the Northeast Florida Library Information Network
(NEFLIN) should register directly with NEFLIN.

Partial funding for this workshop is provided by a grant from the National
Endowment for the Humanities, Division of Preservation and Access.
