Dear Ms. Sabol,

We are developing a webinar and a class with the School of Law at U of
Tulsa because we think all of us in the museum world need to know more
about IPR (Intellectual property rights). Being able to place our museum
science & management students in law classes is going to be a big step.
We're also planning to do a webinar that will discuss the basics of IPR
and what museums should know. We'll also talk about best practices.
Clearly, social media are quickly changing the game.

Bob

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] copyright and social media

Hello,
I am researching for my thesis on copyright and social media in
museums. I was wondering how institutions are managing copyright
issues on their social networking sites. Have any of you come across
any problems? What are you doing to protect your rights on these
sites? Do your institutions have copyright policies and guidelines as
it applies to your museum's presence on the Internet?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Michele L. Sabol
