At the Science Museum we have a water conservation exhibit with two
toilets. These toilets flush for exhibiting purposes, but the water just
cycles back around. Two other staffers and I were standing nearby chatting
when a three year old girl entered the area. After contemplating one of
the toilets for a few seconds, she scrambled up onto the seat, quickly
pushed her pants down, and prepared to take care of business. My
colleague rushed over to the parents who were absorbed in the adjoining
exhibit. The surprised and suddenly-saucer-eyed father quickly scooped up
his daughter, pulled up her clothes, and rushed off (I suspect to the
nearest rest room!) all in one motion. He moved so quickly that the little
girl hadn't had time to go beyond "preparing", so we were spared KP duty!
