One more for fun -

I agree there can be tremendous value in all kinds of educational
institutions and facilities.

I think that for many, the problem with endorsing "collectionless
museums" is the fear that directors will become inspired to sell off
valuable cultural or historic resources to buy computer terminals and
those cool glass spheres with the lightning effects inside - am I right?

...and I won't go to a zoo without animals, either!!!!  However, I would
go to a public lecture about animals, or a gallery where animal pictures
were displayed, or.....you get the idea.
