I forgot to add one thing here. It may catch some of you off guard when I say this.  I am Deaf.  I don't see it as a deterrent at all as I am capable of anything. In fact, I embrace my Deaf identity as part of the Deaf culture.  But I am aware that it can serve as an obstacle for me in some of the future job/internship openings because some will be uncomfortable with the idea of working with a person like me, communication-wise.
