There is a good job opening for a curator of education at a new art museum in
Minnesota. Collections include historic photographs, folk art sculptures, and
marine-themed paintings including artists such as Homer, Bierstadt and
Monet. I wanted to pass along the information:

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona, MN is seeking an energetic,
highly organized and creative museum professional to serve as its Curator of
Education. The successful applicant wil plan, develop, implement and oversee
all aspects of museum educational programs. Responsibilities include
developing comprehensive school programs with local and regional schools
(pre-school through university level); establishing and managing a docent
program; recruiting and training docents and other volunteers; developing
programs for the general public; creating gallery didactics and resources for
different age groups; cultivating strong partnerships with other community
institutions; and grant writing for educational programs. The curator will also
serve on an exhibits team and oversee evaluation of exhibits.

For more information about the museum, visit the website at
www.minnesotamarineart.org.

Candidate must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and a
passion to integrate the museum as a resource for learning. Enthusiasm,
commitment and a passion for museum education are key. The successful
candidate will have appropriate museum education and experience,
demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task, as well
as strong leadership skills and experience working with volunteers.

The mission of the Minnesota Marine Art Museum is to enrich the human
experience, enable the joy of discovery, and elevate the human spirit...all
through the world of art.
