Hello all,

Some folks in St. Joseph, Missouri are searching for a steam-powered,
horse-drawn fire pumper that used to be in their city. There were two of
these items, called the "Redbird" and the "Bluebird." They were donated to
the scrap metal drive during WW II, but there is some evidence that one of
them was diverted from the meltdown and found its way into a museum,
possibly in California.

If anyone has any knowledge of the firepumper's whereabouts, the folks in St
Jo would be thrilled to hear about it.

I'm posting this for Patty Scully, so if anyone can help, please reply to
her at [log in to unmask] or (816) 271-8557.

Thanks much!

Amanda
