• Responsible for major and minor repairs on early American furniture and antiques.  Also, deliver the galleries' art to clientele in various cities.  Examples of significant work include:

   • Tilt Top Candle Stand from Philadelphia, circa 1790s.  Lifted finish in worn areas and applied grime in untouched sections.  Removed glue in various spots of the finish.

   • Pembroke Table from the Mid-Atlantic States, circa 1810.  Refitted the castors and repaired fracture to drawer front.  
        
   • American Looking Glass, circa 1780s.  Fabricated missing glue blocks.  Oxidized glue blocks to match existing ones.  Pieced in areas of the fretwork.


SUMPTER PRIDDY III, INC. - Alexandria, VA
Conservator/Art Handler, 04/1999-12/2000

   • Responsible for hundreds of major and minor restoration projects on early American antiques and objects of art.  Researched the origin and woodworkers of these antiques.  Transported and shipped fine and decorative art to clients and conservators throughout the nation.  Examples of significant work include:

   • Peter Scott Desk from Williamsburg, circa 1750.  Owned by the first governor of Virginia. Most treasured and high style piece of furniture made in Scott's shop.  Analyzed the desk for damage, repairs done, or changes undergone.  Replaced and colorized brackets for pigeonholes.  Applied small amounts of shellac and replaced hinges on prospect door. 
        
   • William King Jr. Tester Bed from Georgetown-Maryland, circa 1790-1810.  Owned by President James Monroe.  Polished brass work.  Ripped and Oxidized pine slats.  
        
   • Samuel McIntire Four Poster Bed from Salem, MA, circa 1770.  Added two coats of stain to raw sections of bed.  Applied a coat of shellac.

Presenter, 10/2000

• Assisted with two presentations on American Museums and American furniture collections.  

MOUNT VERNON - Alexandria, VA
Interior Designer/Conservator, 4/2000

• Aided in the restoration of the Mount Vernon Ladies Association's guest quarters.  Responsible for the redecoration of twenty rooms.  Changed furnishings and window treatments to a historic feel.

• Responsible for sales of modern art.  Provided customer service.  Transported art to clients if necessary.  Presented art at home shows.

• Responsible for sales of a variety of antiques, ranging from Victorian furniture to glassware.  Provided customer service.  Researched origins of antiques and priced accordingly.  Developed displays and window settings.

• Responsible for receiving and selling merchandise.  Organized under stock.  Served as head of store security.
        
EDUCATION                       

• 1999- Attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C.   Enrolled in the fine art and antique appraisal certification program.  Curriculum consisted of Appraisal Law, four centuries years of American Furniture, Textiles and Tapestries, and Silver Identification. 

• 1996- Completed two semesters in principles of real estate appraisal.  Concepts taught include interest rates, mortgages, the real estate market, bundles of rights, leans, and deeds.

• 1993- Graduated Wakefield High School in Arlington, VA.

Lifetime Collector and Seller of Antiques.  Sold Ulysses Davis folk art heads from Savannah, GA, to major collector in Atlanta.  Collector of Colonial, Mission, and Art Deco antiquities.  Other interests lay with various artists and designers, such as LeCorbusier, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, Charles Eames, Charles Wilson Peale, Francis Bacon, and Amedeo Modigliani.
