WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Anyone interested in learning to do oral history for themselves, their
families, or their organization. Especially welcome are museum and
historical society docents, staff and volunteers, teachers, and
individuals who have never done oral history interviewing, have just
gotten started in a project, or want to increase their training.

TRAINING

Practical training on planning projects, interviewing, and strategies for
working with community groups and interested individuals. It will cover
budget considerations for basic purchasing and use of audio and video
equipment. Interview strategies and public programs will be discussed as
we consider a few community and neighborhood projects.

Registration deadline --- November 8, 1996. Late registration will be
accepted IF space permits: space is limited. At-the-door registration
will be accepted with prior phone registration. Notice of cancellation
must be received in writing or by phone by November 12; the registration
fee will be refunded, minus a $10 handling fee. For further information
