The Normandeau Cultural and Natural History Society is seeking a dynamic
and effective Executive Director / Museum Director reporting to the
Normandeau Board.
This person will be responsible for overseeing the City of Red Deer's
Waskasoo Park Interpretive Program, including the Kerry Wood Nature Centre,
Fort Normandeau Historic Site (seasonal operation), Gaetz Lakes a
(federal) Migratory Bird Sanctuary, and the Red Deer and District Museum.
This person will also serve as the Museum Director of the latter.
The Normandeau Society employs 10 full-time and several part-time and
seasonal staff.
The Interpretive Program includes an ambitious exhibition schedule,
effective interpretation and education programs, strong volunteer support,
and a tradition of networking with community and regional agencies. The
annual budget is in the $750,000 to $1,000,000 range.
The successful applicant will have strong oral and written communication
and fund-raising skills, and a demonstrated ability to lead. Minimum
requirements would be an undergraduate degree in management, heritage or
interpretation and at least five years comparable experience, or
equivalents.
The salary range is $42,700 to $60,000 (Cdn.) range, depending on
qualifications and experience.
