I found the following useful, even if you are no longer a

Dear RRE Readers,

Can you do me a favor? You may be familiar with my how-to entitled
"Networking on the Networking" about the theory and practice of using
the Internet (and other media) for professional networking. I have
been revising it for several months based on comments from numerous
people on the net, and now I would like to get it into the hands of
every graduate student in the world, or at least on the net. If you
know any graduate students who are on the net, regardless of their
field, I would greatly appreciate if you'd consider passing a copy
of "Networking on the Network" along to them. To fetch a copy, send
a message that looks like this:

  Subject: archive send network

It's about 66Kbytes or 10,000 words long (about 25 printed pages).

Thanks very much.
