Good points about the van shipping,  I would say the biggest danger to the
type of items in the trucks are accidents and fires rather than crime.   I
suspect the jewels go by air with escorts at each end.  Just in passing
commerical( as opposed to historical artifacts) jewels worth millions are
most often sent by registered mail
