Seeking someone with knowledge of medical paraphernalia.
I have found in our collection what are being referred to as medical smocks.
They are both made of an off-white lightweight canvas. One is rectangular
(almost square) with an insert in the center that holds what appears to be a
wide cotton drawstring. The drawstring is held in place with the same type
of flat cotton pieces overlapping it, each about an inch apart. Along two
of the sides of the piece (running parallel to the center drawstring) are
areas of brushed cotton that are made so that they fold toward the center.
The other "smock" is rectangular with a half-moon section that has pockets
attached. This one has two "drawstrings". Neither have sleeves or an
obvious way of attaching to a person. Any help in identifying this would be
great. Email me if you would like a photo.
