As an aside, I've done a LOT (as in about 15 years) of
volunteering in shelters for abused kids.  The horrors
I've seen and heard about with respect to kids who
have been abused by pedophiles (male and female) is a
lot, and it may have jaded my response.  Volunteering
there helped me to heal.
