The Homestead Museum just started using a type of picture rail, but a
new design that ensure the cable won't slip off the rail (for safety)
and that the artwork can't be lifted off the cable easily (for
security). Yet it has all the advantages of a picture rail in that you
can adjust the positioning of items easily without putting fasteners in
the wall (and all the disadvantages of seeing the cable coming down the
wall). It's called the "Griplock Art System" and distributed from
Atlanta and through the Reutlinger Company in Los Angeles.
