Dear Pat and Fellow Listers:

I noted your posting concerning "income sources" and thought I would
respond with a short answer (I do not have the time for a longer-more
thoughtful responce since I leave very shortly for The Kingdom of Jordan
where I serve on the "Panel of Experts" for Museum Development and
Cultural Tourism).

We recently completed a feasibility study for moving a museum from one
location to another and potential income-producing activities was one of
the areas we examined. The single most important publication I found on
this subject was - "New Horizons - International Benchmarking and Best
Practice for Visitor Attractions," Scottish Enterprise, Scotland, 1998.

This publication examines museums and other sites around the world and
considers - among many other factors - admission fees.

I will be returning to the U.S. sometime after the 28th of Sept. 1999,
if you would like to continue this discussion.

Kind Regards

Roger Wulff
