Two essays in the July 2 New York Times Magazine section may be of
interest to this list, in light of the recent Enola Gay controversy
which is touched on especially by Sanger:

"Denying History Disables Japan" by the Nobel Prize-winning novelist
Kenzaburo Oe.
"Coloring History Their (in the text this word has a line through it) Our
Way" by David E. Sanger - "In recalling World War II, American curators
say, 'We must not dishonor our veterans.' Funny thing. That's just what
Japanese curators say."

Also, the new issue of Museum News with an article on the Smithsonian
Enola Gay Exhibit is now out.
