Senior Program Development Specialist - Public Programs

The Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, The University of Oklahoma, offers the position of Senior Program Development Specialist, an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to organize and coordinate the museumıs consulting and project teams in public programs.  The museum has a new state-of-the-art facility (195,000 sq. ft) located in the thriving and supportive community of Norman, Oklahoma.  The SPDS will assist the Associate Director in preparing grant proposals, business plans and additional assesment, planning  and evaluation documents in all areas of public programs and services including exhibits, education, telecommunications,  operations (cafe and museum shop) and security.  Works as a team member with the  Development Officer, Head of Exhibits, and Head of Education. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a team environment, be able to manage multiple priorities, have strong written and oral communication and presentation skills, demonstrated success in preparing budgets, grants and contracts, and demonstrated ability to apply organizational and human resource development principles.  Requirements include a masterıs degree with a minimum of 36 months experience preferably in a museum, zoo, science center, environmental education center. Ideally, the candidate would have a science or museum background with additional training in business management or public administration and  work experience at college or university.  The position is permanent with a starting salary $30,000-$35,000 plus full benefits, depending on education and experience.
