INFORMATIONAL SESSION THIS WEEK---WED, FEB. 11th, 12:30 PM, ROOM 506-Marvin Center (800 21st Street NW).

“Sustainable Development in South Africa” (June 7-June 19th): A George Washington University Short-term study abroad opportunity

MSTD 6100 (Museums and Community Engagement) Kym Rice and Nadia Volchansky, instructors

In this class jointly offered by Interior Architecture and Museum Studies, students will work on plans for a new Visitors Center in the West Coast National Park, outside of Cape Town. Known for its natural beauty, the park also has important archaeological, cultural, and historical content that we will explore. Included are visits to sites like Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned), the District Six community-based museum, walking tours in old Cape Town, and more. Considered among the most beautiful cities in the world, students will have plenty of opportunities to explore Cape Town during our residence.

The class is open to undergraduate and graduate students. For additional information, email [log in to unmask]
