Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Librray of Virginia, Richmond, VA from 9am
- 4pm.

This session will concentrate on the principles and practices of
managing equipment-dependent magnetic media, motion picture film, and
mechanical sound recording collections. Topics include: preservation
activities for sight and sound recordings, appraisal considerations, and
guidelines for care, handling, and storage. Attendees are invited to
bring in equipment and/or recording media for discussion and
identification during the session. Instructor of the session is Alan
Lewis, Audiovisual Preservation Expert in the Special Media Archives
Services Division, National Archives and Records Administration.

Cost for $115 SOLINET members, ($105 early bird, $140 late
registration); $1555 Non-SOLINET members ($145 early bird, $180 late
registration). Any institution within Virginia qualifies for the member
rate.
