We ae in the process of developingaPolicy concerning reproduction of museum
images, objects and settings. One area that is of interest to me (&my
responsibility) has to do with copyright. We seem tobe ok at images "in the
hand" but I cannot grasp the rules (if any) associated with digitised images
on the web/net. At a recent copyright seminar (Canadian) I was informed
that a digitised image is not a photograph and therefore not subject to the
same copyright restrictions. I'm not sure what this means. Can anybody
help me? I have seen some threads on this list associated with copyright
and theweb but I never kept any of them so please feel free to contact me
off list rather than boring everybody.
Thank you for your help!
