For our internationally renowned auction house client, we are seeking a
Department Head in Popular Entertainment.  This division covers items
pertaining to popular culture, such as comic books, film posters,
collectibles, film and television props and items associated with or
formerly belonging to renowned figures from popular music and entertainment.
The successful candidate will create and maintain client relationships and
consignments; research and catalogue works for public and private sales;
review inquiries for consignment opportunities; serve as a primary liaison
for outside experts; prepare condition reports and conservation evaluations;
coordinate marketing efforts; assist in pre-sale exhibition set-up; assist
clients in the galleries during sale week; other duties as necessary.  Some
travel required.  The ideal candidate will have strong general knowledge of
film, television, popular music and associated developments in graphic and
decorative arts and at least 2-4 years work as a Specialist or in a related
field.  BA in art history or related required, MA preferred.  Excellent
communications, interpersonal and organizational skills essential.  Salary
