A quick question to anyone that is knowledgeable about the conservation of
glass... (my introductory Museum Studies course covered basic conservation
techniques for paper and canvas works but not glass...!)

A colleague of mine has a very old glass bottle in his collection found in
the water near Tyre, Lebanon. He is concerned as the glass seems to be
deteriorating fairly quickly -- what steps should he take for conservation?

Also, if there are any experts in the valuation of such items (preferably
in or near Canada) my colleague would like to have the item appraised.
Please contact me at [log in to unmask]

Many thanks in advance,
