I recently attnded a conference in London called 'Point of No
Return'on the subject of repatriation of cultural (as opposed
to human) remains in the UK. At the moment this seems to be a
very sensitive subject area here, so I would like to get a
more international view. Although we had Tim McKeown from
NAGPRA explaining the processes that have been going on in
the USA over the past years, I'd really like to hear some
more on-the-ground reactions to the changes that must have
taken place. In particular:

i)How much cultural property was being returned previous to
the legislation in 1990?

ii)Have any museums had to return a major part of one of
their collections, and what was the reaction to this?

iii)Was there a sensation of a major shift in the role of the
museum when artefacts began to be handed over?
